We recognize the importance of maintaining your privacy.  The Alberta 1st Party, including persons or organizations acting on our behalf, such as candidates, electoral district associations (riding associations), officers, agents, employees, volunteers, and representatives, will respect your privacy by protecting the personal information you provide to us.

As a federal political party registered under the Canada Elections Act, the Alberta 1st Party is subject to extensive regulation under that Act, including, in particular, public disclosure requirements for contributions over $200. 

 

This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information collected, used, or disclosed by the Alberta 1st Party, whether collected electronically via our website or other digital platforms, in person, or by telephone.

 

What “Personal Information” Do We Collect?

We may also collect additional information regarding your residence, family members, communication preferences, political views or affiliations, voting preferences, donations, and related financial information, including payment methods, billing information, and any other information you may choose to share with us.

Elections Canada provides all political parties with lists of electors, including names and postal addresses. Alberta 1st Party may also collect certain personal information from any publicly available data source.

We will collect personal information from individuals when they purchase a membership or make a contribution to our party. You may also provide us with information voluntarily when registering for an event, signing a petition, or completing a form on our website. We are required by law to keep records of donors for tax purposes.

If you submit your e-mail address and/or personal information on our website, you consent to being added to our email list. Of course, you can unsubscribe at any time.

 

Usage and Disclosure of Personal Information

We use your personal information to communicate with you. As a political party, it is essential to communicate regularly with our members. Our database and lists generated from it are used for various political activities, including fundraising, volunteer drives, canvassing, and tailoring our supporter or member experience. As a national organization with a riding-based membership system, your personal information may be used and disclosed within our Party (such as local riding associations, candidates, nomination contestants, and leadership contestants) who may communicate with you.
